Reason

Every year the Máxima Medical Center (MMC) organizes a science evening. The MMC is a top clinical hospital, where a lot of research is done. During the science evening, all researchers are given a platform to present their work to fellow researchers and other staff of the MMC. Normally that evening always took place live, but this was not possible due to the corona measures. Therefore, an alternative was sought, and this was found in Bano.

We spoke with Nicole Papen-Botterhuis, research and innovation coordinator. Nicole was in the organization of the 2021 science evening. Nicole: “We were looking for an alternative way of organizing the science evening. Last year we had to cancel it, but this year we wanted to let it continue in an alternative form. We looked at possible ways to organize a digital event. I came into contact with the Let's Get Digital platform through a meeting of ASQ Fontys. The nice thing about the platform was the possibility to network. After some research and comparisons of different providers, I ended up at Bano. ”

What have we done?

“What I really liked about Bano was that the response was very prompt and fast. In the beginning by Marcel and later by Erwin. The quotation came very on time, where we sometimes had to wait two weeks with other providers. And that is not pleasant when you are organizing an event. Due to their fast and adequate responses, Bano also showed to be a reliable party and partner. Both Marcel and Erwin are very pleasant to work with. After Marcel we were handed over to Erwin. Always exciting to see if you get a nice contact person again, but that was certainly the case. He responded punctually and was happy to think along with us. On the evening itself, my colleague and I looked at each other and said to each other: "We really made a good choice with Bano." The platform worked well, the communication was good and we were really taken care of. "

“Erwin had to work on-site with a team he didn't know at all, but he came in and took over very well. It is exciting enough with the speakers and their presentations. We didn't have to worry at all. ”

Ultimately, the event at the MMC had almost twice as many participants than the live version. According to Nicole, this was mainly because people were not hindered by whether or not they were present at the location. We believe that this is also one of the many advantages of online events.
